DLT Scotland Meetup – We only allow people to join our community who are interested in learning about how Distributed Ledger Technologies are being used to create an entirely new decentralised global world wide web. Innovators are welcome, but if you are only interested in get-rich-quick cypto schemes – please look elsewhere.
In order to vet who we allow to join, we ask all our members to reveal their full names, and request that they upload a clear profile photo. This is not only for membership vetting and security purposes, but also to facilitate community interaction.
Topics discussed by our guest speakers tend to be less about Fintech (crypto coins, financial regulation, and exchanges), and more about how DLTs are being used to build an entirely new decentralised web aka “Web 3.0” (IoT + AI + DLT). This new decentralised, autonomous machine web will run on many different, but interconnected, distributed ledgers – we don’t think there will be one blockchain to rule them all.
This is why we are blockchain agnostic, and embrace innovation across the entire spectrum. We think every project that can demonstrate a genuine effort to build something amazing is worthy of support. Public/permissionless platforms such as Ethereum, Bitcoin, EOS, Cardano, IOTA, NEO, or private/permissioned platforms such as Hyperledger all have a hugely important contribution to make towards building a new and better open-source, decentralised, distributed world wide web.
If you like what we’re about and you think you meet our criteria, then you are very welcome to apply to become a member. Just head over to the link below and hit “Request to join”: DLT Scotland Meetup
